Pastor Terry first met us in 1993 when he became our youth pastor. He was with us until 1998, when he moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to take an assignment there. His first Senior Pastor position was in Grove City, PA and that is where we found him again and asked him to come back and be our pastor in 2006.
Our pastor has had many experiences that have helped make him the pastor he is today. He began his education at Mount Vernon Nazarene University and has a Master’s Degree. He has been to the Philippines on a work project and loves to travel. He has served Nazarene Youth International as a camp counselor, camp director, District and Regional NYI President and has served on the Board of Trustee’s for Eastern Nazarene College.
Pastor is married to Miriam and they have two daughters, Elizabeth and Tori. For fun they enjoy camping, hiking and going on picnics together. He loves spending time with people and playing games.





Stephanie Tinner

After graduating from Olivet Nazarene University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood, Stephanie began attending the Painesville Church of the Nazarene. Her husband, Ken and she began their ministry as teen leaders. As God continued to develop Stephanie’s call, she worked with the children in the church as a music leader, Sunday school teacher, vacation Bible school teacher, and much more. She was asked to lead the Children’s Ministries at Painesville in 2005. She has most recently been hired as the Associate to Families with Children and is enjoying this new responsibility. She also just finished her Master’s in Science Education.
Stephanie married her high school sweetheart in 1995. After graduating from Olivet in 1996, Ken and Stephanie moved back to Painesville and began their family. Stephanie’s first passion is spending quality time with her family. She also loves to travel, shop, and take new classes to continue her education. Stephanie is in love with Jesus and loves to serve Him.

Tom Purchase
Associate Pastor of Senior Adults

A senior pastor for over 20 years, Tom is now one of our associate pastors. While working at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, New York and working on his M.S., Tom met Julie. She introduced him to Jesus and eighteen months later in 1976 they were married. Tom served in his home church in Rochester as an adult Sunday School teacher, and in outreach and discipleship ministries. He felt called to the ministry and moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he received an M.Div in pastoral ministries in 1979 from Nazarene Theological Seminary. Tom went on to serve four churches as senior pastor in Vermont, New Hampshire and Ohio. Tom’s greatest passion is helping people achieve all God wants for them. Tom and Julie have two adult sons and eight wonderful grandchildren.

Rafie Sturgis
Associate Pastor of Hispanic Ministries (Ministerios Nueva Esperanza)

Rafie Sturgis has been serving the body of Christ for the past twelve years in various capacities. Part of his experience as a minister has been as an Outreach Director, Evangelist, Youth Pastor & Assistant Pastor. He has also served in the secular sector by developing culturally sensitive youth oriented curriculums & as Coordinator of several mentoring programs for the Hispanic population & Public Speaker of Health Awareness & Life-Skills to Cleveland’s Metropolitan School District, Community Youth Centers & Social Agencies in the Cleveland area.
He is deeply committed to educating lives with a message of hope, faith, purpose & identity in Christ.
Rafie is married to Sonia & has two boys; Isaiah Michael Sturgis (4), and Jeremiah Jordan Sturgis (3). His favorite hobbies are wrestling with his two boys, reading, hiking & mountain biking.

Shari-Aaserud

Shari has served Jesus in the Nazarene Church since a very young age via praise team, pianist, choir, Home Bible Studies, serving on committees and teams, tutoring, and supporting the youth and children. Her previous employments have been with banking, finances, and administration.
Her husband is David Aaserud. She and David graduated from Eastern Nazarene College and have been married for 23 years. They have two daughters, Aimee and Emily and as a family, they enjoy music, working at church, hosting small groups, visiting family, and playing with their two small dogs.
